What is Post-Coital Bleeding?

A

Bleeding after sexual intercourse - a red flag that should make you consider cervical and other gynaecological malignancies. It is almost always abnormal except after first intercourse.

Differential Diagnoses of Post-Coital Bleeding (9).

A
  1. Idiopathic (50%).
  2. Cervical Ectropion (1/3 of Non-Idiopathic and Commoner in COCP).
  3. Cervical Cancer.
  4. Cervical Infection (Chlamydia).
  5. Trauma.
  6. Atrophic Vaginitis (commonest in post-menopausal women, prone to bleeding, mucosa is drier and thinner).
  7. Polyps.
  8. Endometrial Cancer.
  9. Vaginal Cancer.
