Characteristics

  • Taller than average height
  • Reduced body hair
  • Reduced facial hair
  • Gynaecomastia
  • Feminine fat distrubution
  • Osteoporosis
  • Testicular Atrophy
  • Varicose veins

Affects 1/550 men
Most common cause of androgen deficiency
70% remain undiagnosed
Small testes <4mL consistent feature

Ix:
Two morning serum testosterone
Total testosterone low/low-normal
Elevated LH
Elevated FSH

Perform DEXA, semen analysis (if fertility an issue = azoospermia), TFT, Fasting BSL

Would benefit from lifelong testosterone treatment
