● Parachordal cartilage lies next to the notochord.

● Prechordal cartilage lies anterior to the notochord.

● Olfactory, optic & optic capsules are also formed.

● The cartilages enlarge, connecting to each other & forming the plates that support the brain (eg. Ethmoid plate).
