Describe, in detail, two features of the political system of the world power that you have studied.

• The President, it is the presidents job to carry out the laws and sign bills. For example; Joe Biden signed a new climate deal in 2021.
• The supreme court, it is their job to make sure everyone is following the laws set out by the constitution. For example; they ruled that it was illegal to fire workers for being gay.

Describe, in detail, two political rights of citizens in the world power that you have studied.

Answer 2

• Vote, citizens can vote at federal, state and local level. For example; in 2020 millions of Americans voted for Joe Biden.
• Join a political party, most Americans associate themselves with either Republicans or Democrats. For example; by displaying yard signs and posters, citizens can show their support for a political party.

• Vote, citizens can vote at federal, state and local level. For example; in 2020 millions of Americans voted for Joe Biden,
• Contribute to a political party, citizens can donate to help fund campaigns. For example; Beyonce contributed to Joe Biden in 2020.

• White people, whites have always had the right to vote and are more likely to be wealthy. For example; the voting turnout in 2020 was 70% white.
• Old people, voting is important to people who grew up after World War 2 when there was a fight for democracy. For example; the voting turnout in the 2020 election was 80% over 60s.

• Black people, blacks are more likely to suffer from voter suppression tactics. For example; the black turnout in the 2020 election was 65%.
• Young people, they may feel like their issues are not being dealt with. For example; the 18-29 age group was the lowest in the 2020 election.

• Women, women make up 51% of the population but only 27% of the current congress. For example; there has only been one female vice president.
• Ethnic minorities, Hispanics are less likely to be represented as they have a much lower participation rate. For example; Latino’s make up 19% of the population but only 9% of congress.

Explain, in detail, two reasons why some groups are underrepresented in politics.

• Racism, some people may refuse to vote for ethnic candidates. For example; Donald Trump made insulting comments about Mexicans.
• Language barriers, some Latino and Hispanic people may not speak much English. For example; the largest immigrant group come from a Spanish speaking country.
