Indications (2) - diltiazem
A
❑ Tachy A-Fib or A-Flutter
❑ rentry SVT (with narrow QRS complex and adequate blood pressure) refractory to adenosine

First, second and maintenance dose for Diltiazem??
A
1st Dose: 0.25 mg/kg SIVP;
2nd Dose: 0.35 mg/kg SIVP;
-15 minutes after 1st dose
Maintenance Infusion: For acute rate control of A-Fib or atrial flutter maintenance is initiated at a rate of 5 to 15 mg/hr titrated to the patient’s heart rate.
Mix: 50mg in 500ml NS (concentration 0.1mg/ml)

❑ Hypersensitivity ❑ Wide-QRS tachycardia of uncertain origin ❑ Poison-or drug-induced tachycardia. ❑ Sick Sinus Syndrome ❑ WPW ❑ Bradycardia; second or third degree AV block ❑ LV dysfunction; Heart Failure ❑ Hypotension
