love of an loyalty to ones country
Many were taught at home and at school to be patriotic this meant when the gov said they had to fight in the war they would
If you did not fight why was it bad/Why were so many people patriotic?
to not fight would be seen as letting the country down and betraying what it stood for
once the US was in the war many people drive to patriotism so that the USA did not look like it was giving in to a communism country

nickname for construction workers who needed to wear protective clothing
what happened on the 8 May 1970?
construction workers charged out during their lunch break wearing hard hats and beated up protestors
What did the hard hat’s do?
they broke through a police line to get to protestors the police did little to stop the beatings
Where did the rioters move to/what did they do?
City Hall where the mayor had agreed to allow the American flag to fly at half mast for the dead students.They protested against this action saying the mayor was not tough on anti-war protestors and communists
