Renal Histology Flashcards
What is the epithelium for PCT?
Simple cuboidal
What’s the two main sections in the kidney?
Medulla and cortex
What layer is the medulla and cortex in ?
Medulla - inner Cortex - outer
Whast attatched to the renal corpuscle?
Efferent and Afferent arteriole
What does the medulla contain?
Loop of Henley and the collecting ducts
What does a renal corpuscle contain?
Glomerulus & Bowman’s capsule
When afferent arteriole leaves renal corpuscle what does it continue as?
Vasorecta
What is difference between PCT and DCT?
PCT has microvilli and absorbs microvilli
What does the micrvilli contain in PCT?
Contains sodium channels
What epithilium does thin limb have?
simple squarmous
What is in the juxtaglomerular?
Macular dense cells from DCT and juxtaglomerular cells.
What is the function of the juxtaglomerular?
Produces renin and adis in sodium reabsorbtion.
What’s the three main regions of the nephron
Renal corpuscle Tubule Collecting tubules
What’s the different regions in the tubule?
DCT PCT Loop of henle
Decribe the cross section of each part of the tubule?
