Define “Mental disorder”?

A

Person who have an abnormal state of mind. This can be seen in: Delusions, Disorders of moods, perception, volition etc to such a degree:

  • That they pose danger to themselves or others
  • Or that they diminish the capacity of that person to take care of themselves

A

Somebody who are mentally disordered in a public place can be detained and must be taken to be assessed.

A

Somebody who are mentally disordered in a private place can be detained and must be taken to be assessed.

Police can enter with force but ONLY with a DAO present.

Detain for 6 hours and take to a place that the DAO desires
