A

Find area of field
Randomly choose coordinate on field
Count organism in area in quadrat (1 metre Sqaure)
Find the mean of organisms on each coordinate and times by area of field

What do microorganisms and decomposers do In the carbon cycle

A

Decomposers break down dead material from plants and other organisms and release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere where it’s available to plants for photosynthesis

How are nitrates made available for plant uptake

A

Farmers use fertilisers like ammonium nitrate to help crops grow and increase yield
Ammonia converted to nitrates by nitrifying bacteria in the soil. Plants absorb the nitrate and use them to build up proteins
