Q

Installing an E cylinder (steps)

A
  1. place gasket over yoke inlet. 2. align holes in the cylinder valve with pins on yoke. 3 push cylinder forward and into yoke. 4. rotate yoke arm upwards and over until the arm engages with other side of yoke. 5. turn t-handle clockwise until it is tight and holds the cylinder firmly in place. 6. To open cylinder, turn the cylinder valve at least one to two turns counterclockwise using a cylinder wrench.

50
Q

Which is more prone to leaks, DISS or PISS?

A

DISS

51
Q

What’s a common problem with DISS systems (besides leaks)?

A

DISS can be “hacked’” to connect to any connector and they’re not standardized.

52
Q

A function of shutoff valves is that they isolate specific piping system areas without turning off what

A

the entire/rest of the system

53
Q

What are two pipeline alarms?

A
  1. Master Alarm System and 2. Area (local) alarm System
54
Q

What is the Master Alarm System?

A
  1. monitors central supply & distribution
55
Q

What is the area (local) alarm system?

A
  1. measures only a specific area.
56
Q

Do area alarm systems go through the anesthesia machine?

A

No
