(c) Explain why the home is important in Judaism.

 Many festivals are celebrated in the home e.g. Pesach.  Shabbat is brought into the home.  It is the home where Jewish values are taught and maintained.  It is in the home where many Jews keep kosher.  God is believed to be as present in the home as in the synagogue.  The mezuzah cases show the importance of the home as a spiritual and
religious base.  The significance of prayers said in the home.  The use of the siddur at home.  The development of Jewish identity in the home.
