Spatial Approach

Physical Geography
The branch of natural science which deals with the processes and patterns in the natural environment
Human Geography
The study of the interrelationships between people, place, and environment, and how these vary
Absolute Location
THE EXACT, PRECISE LOCATION
Latitude
the measurement of distance north or south of the Equator.
Longitude
the measurement east or west of the prime meridian.
Relative Location
a description of how a place is related to other places.
Place
describes the physical and human characteristics of any location on Earth.
Region
an area of land that has common features.
Site
the exact location of a city, you can find it on a map
Situation
relates to its surrounding features, both human-made and natural.
Sense of Place
the emotive bonds and attachments people develop or experience in particular locations and environments, at scales ranging from the home to the nation.
Toponyms
another word for name, but is specific to locations.
Distance
the space between two places
Proximity
the absolute position of something on the surface of the earth and its relative proximity to other related things
