A

 Crossovers & sister chromatid cohesion lock homologues together
 Microtubules connect to the kinetochores of an entire homolog so that homologues are pulled toward opposite poles
 Microtubules pull the homologous chromosomes apart, but sister chromatids are held together at the centromere
