A
  • Good for cognative learners - provides a mental picture
  • Good for autonomous learners - allows identification of weak/incorrect subroutines
  • Videos can be played in slow motion/annotated/motion capture

e.g. A coach tell a gymnast to hold their arms in crucifix parallel to the ground

What are the advantages of verbal guidance?

A
  • Used along side visual guidance to reinforce
  • At a cognitve stage the important parts can be picked out
  • Autonomous learners can digest verbal guidance on its own
  • It can be used to motivate performers if used correctly
  • Can increase confidence e.g. “well done”
  • Questioning can facilitate learning
