Q

Amiodrome Contra induction

A

VT Secondary to cyclic antidepressant poisoning. In this setting amiodrome can be associated with worsening of shock without resolution of the rhythm

Q

Amiodrome Mechanism

A

Amiodrome is an antidysrhythmic. It prolongs action potential duration, reduces automaticity and prolongs the refractory period of atrial, nodal and ventricular tissues. This normally mean reduction of electrical conduction and and a reduction of heart rate and stabilisation of SA and AV nodes
