selective for peripheral vasculature.
block L-type calcium channel blockers on smooth muscle cells of arterial blood vessels and cardiac myocytes.
less contraction- less chronotropy and inotropy
lowers TPR
maBP- CO X TPR

Common indications?
A
Especially given to patients with hypertension and low renin. ARBs and ACEi would have no effect on the already low renin in RAAS

Drug- drug interactions?
A
Amlodipine and statin.
this increases the effect of statin by a lot more

Adverse drug reactions?
A
Ankle swelling-
flushing-
headaches- a lot more vasodilation
