What is convulsive syndrome ?

A

A morbid state, manifested as stiffness of the neck and back, lockjaw, spasm of limbs, and in severe cases, opisthotonus

Etiology of convulsive syndrome?

3 main aetiologies?

A

Malnourishment of muscles and sinews causing caused by:

⚡️Blockage

⚡️Internal heat drying sinews

⚡️Xue and yin xu

•Blockage of channels and collaterals
(PF, like a virus got in and blocked qi and xue [encefalitis, meningitis ]/extreme internal or external heat)

•Lack of yin and xue 
( heat pathogen/ constitutional xu )

A

Acute inflammation of the meninges (protective membrane covering the brain and spinal cord)

Symptoms: fever, headache and neck stiffness that makes lowering the chin to the chest difficult or impossible.

Commonly due to viruses such as:
Herpes simplex, herpes zoster,cytomegalovirus, or West Nile virus

🚩medical emergency

Main symptoms

A

Inflammation of the brain that occurs when a virus directly infects the brain or when a virus, vaccine, or something else triggers inflammation.

Symptoms: fever, headache, or seizures, and they may feel sleepy, numb, or confuse.

A

Progressive degenerative disease affecting motor function leading to muscle tremors, muscle rigidity, difficulty initiating movement. Primary or idiopathic Parkinson’s usually develops after 60. Secondary may follow encephalitis, tremor, or vascular disease
