3 main muscle types
cardiac, smooth, skeletal
describe a skeletal muscle?
voluntary- under conscious control, pull on bones to create movement, becomes fatigued during excercise.
describe a smooth muscle?
involuntary- works without conscious thought as nervous system controls it, located in walls of digestive system + blood vessels helps regulate digestion and blood pressure.
describe a cardiac muscle?
involuntary- not under conscious control, found in heart of the wall,its contractions allow blood to pass through blood vessels to all parts of your body.
Triceps function found in outside upperarm
extend lower arm, origin- scapula and humerus
Deltoid function found in shoulder cap
abducts, flexes and extends upper arm
Pectorals function found in chest
flexes and adducts upper arm
Biceps function found in front of upper arm
flexes lower arm at elbow
Wrist flexors function found anterior forearm
flexing the hand on the wrist
Wrist extensors function found in the back of the forearm
extends or straightens hand at wrist
Supinators function found at the top and rear of forearm
Supinate forearm
Pronators function found at the top and front of forearm
Pronate forearm
