Q

What was the experiment testing and what was the question?

A

The digestive ability of amylase to break amylose to reducing sugars.
What is the ideal pH for amylase to break down starch into smaller sugars?

Q

What was your hypothesis and prediction, where they supported?

A

A pH of 1 will be the best pH to digest starch into smaller sugars therefore the starch solution will turn red fastest in the pH of 1 and the slope would be greater. They were not supported

Q

What were the results of the starch experiment?

A

The color (designating the amount of reducing sugars: blue: 0, green: 1, orange: 2, red:3) of the pH 7 slowly increased from 1.1 to 2.6 while the color of the pH 1 increased from 0.4 to 0.9.
