why was militarism a reason for the break out of WW1?
During this time all the major European countries
were building large armies. To many, there was no point having a large army without knowing it works. So lots of countries wanted to know if their army would win against others.
why was Alliances a reason for the break out of WW1?
As countries began to feel threatened, they looked for alliances to back them up. Therefore, Europe split into 2 main alliances: Britain, France and Russia(triple Entente) and Germany, Austria-hungry and Italy(triple alliance). The idea was to stop people invading each other however it really meant if there was only a small conflict, there would be massive war.
why was Imperialism a reason for the break out of WW1?
Britain had lots of land at the time and others wanted the same. Especially after the scramble for Africa, everyone was nervous that others would take their overseas land. They thought war was the only war to stop future conflicts.
why was Nationalism a reason for the break out of WW1?
Around this time people started taking great pride in their countries. unfortunately, for many European leaders, the only way to prove your country was better than others was through war.

how was the Archduke franz ferdinand murdered?
After multiple attemps at murdering him, the black hand(a gang of serbians),split up in defeat. The frightened archduke asked his driver to drive them home quickly, but unfortunately the driver took a wrong turn and ended up outside the cafe 19 year old gavirilo princip was inside eating a sandwich. He couldn’t believe his luck and immediately came out and fired 2 shot one hit the archdke and one hit his wife. Both were killed.
