(IF LOSING >$80,000) What’s the worst part about losing <loss> a year cuz patients blow you off?</loss>

(Only if they don’t give you anything)

Is it maybe the fact that revenue would have more than covered <kids tuition/income increase goal> or is it that patients just don’t CARE to give you common courtesy… or is it something else?

What EMOTIONS come up for you when you think about losing <$$$> cuz patients just don’t care?

Where do you feel that in your body?

(Only if they don’t give you anything)

Some docs tell us they get stress headaches, others say knots in their stomach, what is it for you?

Doc, I’d suggest jotting down really focusing on reducing your <$$$> loss to failed appointments. I know that Dr. Orent was able to reduce failed appointments by 80% in his Framingham practice, and by over 60% in Worcester.

PPO Write-offs

A

Doc, roughly how much is your 12 month production, top line if you know, or adjusted if not? (Enter ROW 5 BT CALC)

You indicated <or> you are LOSING <$PPO ADJ> a year due to PPO write-offs.</or>

How many years has that been going on?

(If no idea) We find a range from 25% to as much as 50% PPO write-offs. To be conservative, let’s just use 25%. You are losing <$>

Heaven forbid you don’t fix this… in just 5 years you’ll have lost <$ 5 year PPO LOSS>

Q

PPO Write-Offs 1 to 2

A

Have you ever sat down and multiplied that out… at the current write-offs, in just the past 5 years alone, you’ve lost
<$5 x PPO adj>… and that’s all NET INCOME!

Dr. <name>, 5 years from now... heaven forbid you haven't done anything to fix your PPO situation and you've just lost another <$ 5 year total>... you wake up at 3:00 in the morning... what would be your biggest regret?</name>

(Only if they don’t give you anything)

Ok, so might it be that you KNEW COULD have fixed it and you didn’t do anything about it, or is it the fact that that <$ 5 year total> would have I made a HUGE difference for a comfortable… MAYBE even EARLY retirement, or is it something else?

Please know there’s no judgment on my part… at that point, what would be your greatest fear if you’re income is still suffering?

17
Q

PPO Write-Offs 4 to 5

A

What’s the worst part for you about losing <$5 x PPO adj> to PPOs?

(Only if they don’t give you anything)

Ok, so is it that you could have put that directly into your bank account, or is it that you’re delivering top-quality care but getting compromised fees, or is it something else?

What’s your worst fear if you don’t significantly reduce your PPOs?

(Only if they don’t give you anything)

Is it that you’ll end up stuck dependent on PPO fees, or that you’ll never be able to retire to the level you’ve always dreamed of, or is it something else?

18
Q

PPO Write-Offs 6 to 9

A

How would you feel in the morning heading into your practice knowing you were finally FREE FROM PPO PRISON?

Do you have the FREEDOM and TIME with your FAMILY you really want?

What’s your biggest regret about not having enough time to devote to your family?

(Only if they don’t give you anything)

Ok, so is it that you’re working your tail off for your family but never with them, or is it that you realize you could have fixed this, but didn’t, or is it something else?

19
Q

Income

A

May I ask, and to be clear, I don’t need to know what the number is… but are you earning the level of INCOME you really want?

20

When that happened, what emotion showed up for you?

21

Running room-to-room 2 (they tell you what emotion showed up)

A

(Only if they don’t give you anything)
Some docs tell us they get Stress headaches, others say stomach tension, what is it for you?

Has this affected <name> yet? Your kids <kids> yet?</kids></name>

What is it really costing you in stress, your health, and happiness to live this way?

What would your life be like if you were able to head home early every day, refreshed and able to be fully present for your family?

A

Do you ever feel like PPOs are driving a wedge between you and your patients making it tough to have the highest impact on your Patients’ health?

New Patients Part 1

A

IF <18 New Patients/Month/doc OR if wrote or said “Not enough new patients”

On average, how many new patients do you see each month… I believe I saw on your form that you’re getting roughly <#> new patients per month…

In the last 12 months, which was your worst month for new patients?

How many patients did you see that month?

When you had only <X> patients in <month>, what emotions came up?</month></X>

ONLY IF YOU DIDN’T ASK THE SHOW UP IN BODY QUESTION ALREADY

24
Q

New Patients Part 2

A

What scared you the most about seeing only <x> new patients in an entire month?</x>

Only if they don’t give you anything
Was it you realized if you don’t fix this you could lose your practice, or was it that you’re unable to give your family what they really need, or was it something else?

Please know I only ask because I care… but what have you done to try to fix your new patient flow?

What’s the worst part about not getting even the average… 25 or 30 new patients a month?

Only if they don’t give you anything
Is it that your lack of new patients is the difference between struggling and really nice lifestyle, or that you know you can never make up the lost income… or is it something else?

26
Q

A

Dr. <name>, may I ask, roughly what is your overhead percentage? Even just a ballpark?</name>

IF overhead >75%
Wow… no judgment, but, how long has your overhead been that high?

May I ask, what’s the worst part about such high overhead and low net?

Only if they don’t give you anything
Is it that PPOs keep lowering allowable fees while expenses go up, or is it that there’s so little left for you and your family, or is it something else?
.

27
Q

Debt Part 1

A

May I ask, Roughly what’s your total debt, personal, and office combined?

In the last month, how many days did your debt feel like it was weighing heavily on you?

May I ask, which day was the worst for you?

What made that day your worst?

IF YOU DID ASK re: SHOW UP IN THE BODY, then END Debt Section with:

What would your life be like if you woke up in the morning and you were 100% debt-free?

ONLY IF YOU DIDN’T ASK WHAT EMOTION & THE SHOW UP IN BODY QUESTION ALREADY then go to Debt Part 2
