Observations: Attention, Effort, Approach to Task, Pencil Grasp, Verbal, Aware of Errors, Speed, etc.

Poor results can indicate:
1. child has adequate visual perception/motor coordination but has not learned to integrate the two.
2. The child’s visual/motor abilities are deficient.

VMI - Visual Perception Task (Blue)

Answer 4

Examines the ability to match visual stimuli to a model.

Measures a student’s ability to scan and discriminate amongst visual stimuli

Observations: Attention, Speed, Verbal, & Physical behaviors.

VMI - Motor Coordination Task (Brown)

Answer 5

Examines the ability to recreate geometric shapes within a confined space.

Measures the student’s ability to track increasingly complex shapes while staying within a track.

5-minute limit

Observations: Draws carefully, draws easily, attention.

Watch chronological age. Any days 16 & above, round to the nearest month.

Use of protractor will be needed for Visual Motor integration form. When in doubt, rule in favor of the student. In order to receive points, student must meet all the criteria for each item.
