Q

causes cardiac contraction

A

Electrical activity in the heart

17
Q

Electrical impulses known as action potentials are initiated and conducted by specialised cells known as:

A

Autorhythmic cells

‘Auto’ = self

‘rhythmic’

18
Q

Action potentials are transmitted to

A

cardiomyocytes to enable contraction

19
Q

Arrhythmias

A

An arrhythmia is an abnormality of the heart’s rhythm. It may beat too slowly, too quickly, or irregularly. These abnormalities range from a minor inconvenience or discomfort to a potentially fatal problem.
