When is admission for an eating disorder necessary?
A
Very low BMI <15
If at high risk of refeeding syndrome
Severe muscle weakness
Hypoglycemia
Dehydration (fainting/dizziness)
Electrolyte disturbance
Arrhythmias (or bradycardia or long QTc)

Capacity and MH
A
If the patient has capacity, is refusing treatment and has physical risk factors, what do you do?
If someone with AN would eather die that eat, they lack capacity, without AN they would be likely to make a different decision
