What is a Star Topology
A star Topology also known as Hub and Spoke is a LAN Topology in Which all computer is connected into a Central Computer known as a Switch or Hub
Downside of a Star Topology is all information will pass through the Central Hub or Switch and then sent to is destination. However if the Switch or Hub goes down then its redundant
What is a Bus Topology?
A Bus Topology is when all computers are connected to eachother in one line(the backbone) usually with a coaxial cable with BNC T connectors and terminators.
downside is if cable goes down entire system goes down
What is a Mesh Topology?
A Mesh Topology is when all devices are connected point to point directly with each device maintaining redundancy.
What is a Ring Topology?
A Ring Topology known as a token ring where all devices within a ring like formation and data is moving within a circle of devices in a clockwise formation
No longer used as much for LAN but now used for MAN and WAN
What is a Hybrid Topology?
A Hybrid Topology is a combination of multiple Topologies together
