a Vswitch is a virtual switch , it has the same functionality as a regular switch except its in the virtual world

A vNic is a virtual Network Interface Card. same functions as a regular NIC but can only connect to a vswitch and VM

NFV is Network Function Virtualization.
it is when a user takes all his physcial network and replaces them all with virtual network
such as swithing,routing and vlans will be contained within a virtual system

Hypervisor is also known as VMM virtual machine manager.
responsible for managing all OS, all virtual systems
