Gate control theory of pain
sensory fiber stimulation closes the gate between A delta and C afferents at the spinal cord level
decreases pain, which deceases spasm, longer pain relief

higher pulse duration and lower frequency
on and off for 30-60 min at a time
Acute pain parameters
lower pulse duration and higher frequency
can be on for hours at a time
