What did the suffragist do in WW1?
Supported the war effort, ran training courses so women could help, organised hospital units and continued to petition for female suffrage.
What did the suffragettes do in WW1?
Supported the war effort and the government, led the white feather campaign, renamed the WSPU as women’s party and called their newspaper Britannia.
What jobs did women have in WW1?
mutitious factories, farmers, women’s air force, women’s army auxiliary corps and nurses
Why were women so important in the war effort?
The men were all at war so the women had to do the jobs the men normally did and they helped provide food and nursing for the men.
What did this prove to the men?
They could do hard work and act sensibly in the workhouse.
