Q

What are the main tasks of a DCS?

A

Monitoring and control of industrial processes
* Collecting and analyzing data from sensors and instruments
* Adjusting process parameters to maintain optimal
performance
* Alerting operators to abnormal conditions or malfunctions
* Recording and storing process data for analysis and reporting
* Providing a user interface for operators to interact with the
system

Q

Why do we need to start talking about CPPS, Cloud, IoT, and DT?

A
  1. Plants need to be more flexible in at least 4 dimensions
  2. Need solutions which are “easy to deploy, easy to scale, easy to maintain” on a global level.
  3. Implement solutions which are cybersecure and data integrit-compliant
  4. Need to be competitive in a global market

Q

What is the Asset Administration Shell

A

The AAS is a standardised digital representation of an industrial asset, such as a machine or a production line.

Contains information; asset’s identity, capabilities and behaviour. Relationships to other assets and systems.

Allows seamless communication and interoperability between different industrial systems and applications.

Supports advanced use cases such as predictive maintenance and autonomous production.
