Engine Fire at Takeoff

A

Memory Items
1 - When Airborne: Positive Rate, Gear Up
2 - Identify Cancel: Master Warning, Engine 1 Fire
3 - Accel: MCT
4 - White Bug: Flaps Up (Icing Flaps 15)
5 - PL (affected engine): FI
6 - CL (affected engine): FTR then Fuel S.O.
7 - Fire Handle (affected engine): Pull
If Fire persists
8 - Fire After 10 sec: Agent 1 Pull
If Fire persists
9 - Fire After 30 sec: Agent 2 Pull

Positive Rate: Gear Up
PF: Identify Cancel
PM: MW Engine 1/2 Fire. It’s still producing Thrust.
PM: Accel Alt
PF: MCT
PM: White Bug
PF: Flaps 0
Memory Items
PM: PL 1/2, confirm?
PF: Confirm
PM: PL Flight Idle
CL 1/2, confirm?
PF: Confirm
PM: CL Feather and Fuel Shutoff
Engine Fire Handle N°1/2 confirm?
PF: Confirm
PM: Pull + 10 seconds wait to press agent 1. Wait 30 seconds for agent 2

Engine Flame Out at Takeoff

1 - When Airborne: Positive Rate, Gear Up
2 - Confirm FAILURE, FEATHER and UPTRIM
3 - Accel: Alt Mode
4 - White Bug: IAS, MCT, and Flaps Up (Icing Flaps 15)
5 - PL (affected engine): FI
6 - CL (affected engine): FTR then Fuel S.O.

Positive Rate: Gear Up
PF: Confirm Failed, Feathered and Up Trimmed
PM: TRQ Indication, Feather “Low Pitch” and UP Trim Green Light. Confirmed Failed, Feather and Up Trimmed

Trim the Aircraft promptly. Ball a half to the side of the live Eng.

PF: Identify Cancel
PM: MW Engine Number 1/2 Oil
White Bug
PF: IAS, MCT and Flaps 0
Memory Items
PM: PL 1/2, confirm?
PF: Confirm
PM: PL Flight Idle
CL 1/2, confirm?
PF: Confirm
PM: CL Feather and Fuel Shutoff
PF: QRH for Engine Flameout at takeoff

Stall in Cruise Clean Configuration

1 - Control Column: Push
1 - PWR MGT: MCT
2 - Eng Pwr: Increase
3 - Flaps: Extend to 15
4 - Bank: Wings Level

When possible, advise the ATC “Ottawa Center, Calm Air 112 we just have a stall warning, correcting for altitude”
White Bug: Flaps Up
Upon Requesting: AP On
ATC: Inform recovered “Ottawa Center, Calm Air 112 we have a stall warning, we recovered and we are back at cruise altitude FL220

Accel: Climb Sequence
White Bug: Flaps 0

  • If one Generator recovered:
    DC GEN 1(2) Fault Procedure
  • If no Generator is recovered:
    1 - Max IMC Flight Time: 30 minutes
    2 - BAT SW: Override
