Key components of the Mediterranean diet:
A
- Plant-based foods: fruits, veggies, whole grains, legumes, nuts, etc.
- Healthy fats: olive oil, and canola oil instead of butter.
- Herbs and spices instead of salt.
- Limiting red meats to less than a few times a month.
- Eating fish and poultry 2x/week.
- Meals w/family and friends.
- Red wine in moderation.
- Exercise.
