A human body system that is made up of glands that secrete hormones
The endocrine system
Chemical substances that stimulate or excite the body depending on its function

Hormones use what to travel through out the body

Where is the pituitary gland located
Located below the hypothalamus in the middle of the brain and it affects all other glands
Gland Responsible for secreting the hormone involved in growth, some involved in woman’s pregnancy, labor, motherhood
Pituitary gland
Stimulates milk for women
Prolactin
Released when a female goes into labor
Oxytocin
Gland known for producing the hormone thyroxine -(which effects the body’s metabolism)
Thyroid gland
Condition in which someone does not produce enough and may appear sluggish and overweight
Hypothyroidism
When someone produced too much and may have too much energy and be underweight
Hyperthyroidism
Where are the adrenal glands located
Above the kidneys
Gland that produces adrenaline and noradrenaline which are released by sympathetic nervous system when in stressful situations
Adrenal glands
Main glands involved in the secreting the hormones in sexual development of females and males
Ovaries and testes
Primary sex hormones in females
Estrogen and progesterone
Aids in breast development and rounded hips, regulates the menstrual cycle
