Last minute anatomy Flashcards
Two actions of internal oblique?
Unilaterally: Rotate to same side
Bilaterally: Flex vertebral column
Two actions of external obliques
Unilaterally: Contralateral rotate vertebrae
Bilaterally: Flex vertebral column
Internal Intercostals do what action? To assist with what?
Draws ribs inferiorly to assist with EXHALATION
External Intercostals do what action? To assist with what?
Draw rips superiorly to assist with inhalation
What are the 5 functions of the pelvic floor, 5 “S”s
Support
Sphincter
Sexual
Stability
Sump-Pump(Lymphatic)
Serratus Posterior Superior and Inferior is involved in what?
Forced breathing
What are the 3 structures that pass through the Diaphram, From LEFT TO RIGHT.
Anterior to posterior?
Left to right A.E.V
Anterior to posterior: VEA
Descending Aorta, Inferior vena cava, Esophagus
What are the 3 attachments of the diaphram
Xiphoid process
Inferior 6 ribs
Upper 3 lumber vertebrae
What is the proximal attachment of the Psoas Major?
Sides of vertebrae T12 to L5, including the discs, But it only attaches to TP of L1-L5 (Not thoracic T12)
What is the distal attachment of the Psoas major
Lesser Trochanter
What is the muscle action of the psoas major?
Hip external rotation, and Hip Flexion
What is the proximal insertion of the iliacus?
iliac fossa, sacrum
What is the distal attachment of the Iliacus
Lesser Trochanter and Psoas Tendon
What is the innervation of the illiacus
Femoral Nerve L2 to L4
Hip flexors tilt the pelvis:
Anteriorly or posteriorly
Anteriorly
