Clinical features

A
  • repeated muscle contractions lead to increased muscle strength (in contrast to myasthenia gravis)
  • muscle strength will eventually decrease=> limb-girdle weakness
  • hyporeflexia
  • autonomic symptoms: dry mouth, impotence, difficulty micturating

Management of Lambert-Eaton syndrome

A
  • Tx underlying cancer
  • Immunosuppression (steroids/ azathioprine)
  • IV Ig/plasma exchange
