Pharmacological management of status epilepticus

• PR diazepam or buccal midazolam (in community)
• IV lorazepam
• repeat after 5-10 minutes
• If ongoing add levetiracetam, phenytoin or sodium valproate
• If no response within 45 minutes from onset, then GA or phenobarbital
