Turn off the gas tap immediately.

This type of flame is called a LUMINOUS FLAME

The flame changes colour and the type of flame obtained is called a NON-LUMINOUS FLAME
State the difference between luminous flames and non-luminous flames.
Luminous flames are obtained by closing the air hole, this flames brighter
Non-luminous flames are obtained by opening the air hole. This flame is hotter.
State the procedure for lighting a Bunsen burner?
- Connect the Bunsen burner to the gas tap with a piece of rubber tubing.
2.Turn the collar to close the air-holes. - Light a match. Hold the lighted match over the top of the barrel and turn on the gas tap with your free hand.
- Turn off the gas to put out the flame.
5.Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you are familiar with the procedure of lighting a Bunsen burner.
