A
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • SLE
  • Sarcoidosis
  • Granulomatosis with polyangiitis

How does scleritis present?

A
  • Red eye
  • Painful (contrast to episcleritis)
  • Watery eye
  • Photophobia
  • Gradual decrease in vision

How is scleritis managed?

A
  • Same day assessment by ophthalmologist
  • First line: Oral NSAIDs
  • Oral glucocorticoids can be used
  • Immunosuppressants for resistant cases
