9
Q

frequency selector

A

allows sonographer to switch bw different frequencies that the probe has to adjust for optimal imaging frequency parameters for that patient and ROI

Q

TGC

A

time gain compensation
- set of sliders that corresponds and adjusts the depths of the sound beam, if not set correctly can cause image artefacts (creating dark and bright bits in the image)
this is operator dependent and to fix, just adjust the parameters until its what you want

11
Q

how should the TGC normally be set at

A

aligned appropriately - generally in an even diagonal line (top on the very left of the slider and bottom at the very right) to create a nice even depth all the way through the image

freeze button

A

captures the last 100-300 frames for the sonographer to go through to pick the best images to store or print

15
Q

image capture

A

allows sonographer to take images of the live scanning examination to assist the radiologist for their report. important to note that its operator dependent so if sonographer has missed something, the radiologist cant see if it isnt imaged and cannot report it

A

17
Q

read zoom/ read magnification

A

can be done in post-processing, enlarges a small no. of pixels in a magnified form

18
Q

zoom depth

A

has to be done before post-processing. this enlarges the image (not the pixel size)
- theres a scale that shows us how deep structures are, we can zoom in to better look at something and zoom out to include more

19
Q

text

A

allows us to label structures and pathologies. helps radiologist with orientation and understanding exactly what is imaged

20
Q

focus

A

you can adjust the focal zone or multiple focal zones to the area of interest. this focuses the beam to ensure maximum resolution is at the area of interest
