In what situations may we find it difficult to be patient?
We may find it difficult to be patient when we are stuck in traffic, when others irritate us, or when we have to wait for Jehovah’s promised new world.
How does a patient person react when provoked?
A patient person is slow to anger, like Jehovah. He tries to stay calm and to hold back from retaliating when provoked or under stress.
How does a patient person react when he has to wait?
A patient person can wait calmly. If something takes longer than expected, such a person tries to avoid becoming restless or irritable.
How does a patient person react when he has an important task to accomplish?
A patient person is not rash. A patient person does not rush into or through important tasks, but he plans and evaluates his options carefully.
How does a patient person react when facing trials or adversity?
A patient person strives to bear trials without complaining. He will do his best to continue enduring while maintaining a positive attitude.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE PATIENT?
Be slow to anger.
Wait calmly
Don’t be rash.

What should we do if someone is speaking, in harmony with Job 36:2?
We need to listen patiently while someone is speaking, without interrupting.
According to James 5:7, 8, why is patience so important?
Patience is essential for our salvation because it helps us to endure until the end and be saved. ( Matt. 24:13)
Patience also shows that we trust in Jehovah’s promises and timing. ( Mic. 7:7)
Patience is compared to that of a farmer who works hard and waits patiently for his crop, trusting that he will reap it in due time. ( Jas. 5:7, 8)
How does patience help us in our dealings with others? (Colossians 3:12,13)
Patience helps us in our dealings with others by making us slow to anger, forgiving, and peaceful. It also helps us to listen attentively and avoid being rude or harsh.
How does patience help us when we need to make decisions? (Proverbs 21:5)
Instead of being hasty or impulsive, we will take the time to research and evaluate the options that we have.
How can a Christian develop and maintain patience?
A Christian can develop and maintain patience by praying for holy spirit, meditating on Bible examples, considering the benefits of patience, and imitating Jehovah and Jesus.
How has Jehovah shown patience?
Jehovah has shown patience by waiting for the right time to vindicate his name and sovereignty. He has also shown patience by enduring reproach and giving people the opportunity to repent and obtain everlasting life.
How has Jesus perfectly imitated his Father’s patience?
Jesus has perfectly imitated his Father’s patience by being slow to anger. He did not retaliate when he was insulted or provoked. He endured trials without complaining.
What can we learn from Abraham’s patience? (Hebrews 6:15)
We can learn from Abraham’s patience that we may not see all of Jehovah’s promises fulfilled right away, but we can be sure that he will reward us if we remain faithful and obedient. We can also learn to enjoy a close friendship with Jehovah while we wait.
What could we consider during our personal study?
We could consider during our personal study other Bible accounts of people who were patient, such as David or Anna, or impatient, such as Saul, and learn from their examples.
While doing so we should examine our own attitude and behavior and look for ways to improve our patience.
