A

más (o menos) + adjetivo + que (than)

  • in this case, we change the vowel for feminine and masculine

  • Defined article (el, la, los, las) + noun (sometimes optional) + más + adjective + de (sometimes optional) —— “en” is sometimes used as well

What are some absolute superlatives?

A
  • Equivalent to “extremely - extremadamente”
  • Formed using adjective or adverb with the addition of the suffixes (ísimo/a/os/as)

Examples
- Caro - extremadamente caro = carísimo
Car- + ísimo = carísimo
- Bello - extremadamente bello = bellísimo
- Rico- ric+ísimo = *ricísimo = riquísimo (ajustar la letra para mantener sonido)
