A

Expansion of the aging population, there are greater numbers of insured people seeking health care due to the ACA, there are Medicare reimbursements for improved patient outcomes which requires nurses with high educational levels, and RNs are needed to assume new and expanded roles: primary care provider, care coordinator, case manager, and patient educator.

A

Needing an increase in the number of nurses, but also the skill level. The amount of nurses with a bachelor’s degree should go from 50% to 70%, the number with doctorates should double, and a nurse residency program will be required after a pre-licensure or an advanced practice degree program.
