how do gallstone cause symptoms of acute cholecystitis?

A
  • gallstones get stuck in duct to stomach
  • block outflow of bile - gallbladder spasms
  • gallbladder hhurst after eating - body secretes more bile after large/high fat meals
  • when fats ingested - gallbladded contracts, this combined with blocked ducts causes pressure and pain
