A

When a structure (usually a limb or part of one) is moved away from the midline.
This can be related to the midline of a limb also, e.g. in the case of abducting the fingers.

16
Q

What is Supination ?

A

Rotation of the forearm to cause the palm to face superiorly/anteriorly.
Palm up position.
Anatomical position.

17
Q

What is opposition ?

A

Brings thumb (1st digit) over palm to meet the other fingers (digits).
Primarily used to describe movement for thumb to touch little finger (5th digit).

18
Q

What is Reposition ?

A

Move the thumb back in to anatomical position – exact opposite movement to opposition.
