Q

list 3 things stated in the national partys sauer report

A

Commissioned by Malan and the National Party

Became the policy of the National Party just before the 1948 election

The recent black migration to the cities had to be reversed

Migrant labour should continue to be controlled by passes

Black people in urban areas should continue to be housed in controlled townships within white areas

Black people should continue to be pushed up into the native reserves

Separateness was the only safe way forward and apartness (‘apartheid’) was vital

Black people in towns should have no political rights and be tightly controlled.
