Question

What are examples of safety devices that prevent circuits from overheating?

A

Fuses- Contain a small piece of metal on the interior that melts if the current becomes too high. This causes a break in the current and stops it.

Circuit Breakers- When the current becomes too great, a switch flips and opens, which stops the current.
