In the treaty of nanjing the chinese agreed to open 5 costal ports for british trade
The chinese limited taxes on imported british goods and the chinese paid for expenses of the war
China also agreed to give the british ownership of the island of hong kong which the british would have ownership of til 1997
Nothing was said in the treaty about the opium trade
