Q

What is combination syndrome?

A

Associated with flabby ridge
Generally when there is an edentulous maxilla and they only have lower 3-3 (anterior) teeth.
All the biting force is on the upper 3-3 ridge, so the bone resorbs and mucosa thickens, resulting in a flabby ridge.

Q

What are the solutions for overbite of upper complete to lower natural incisors?

A

Reduction of the incisal edges of the natural teeth - not always possible due to sensitivity
Re-site the upper denture teeth - putting them higher up - see less upper denture teeth
May improve the function but compromise on aesthetics
