What were the Americans plan for the Oregon territory
A
The United States in 1803 had an increasing population needing a necessary expansion for land. Most Americans were convinced that they were fated to control all of North America. An idea called manifest destiny.

A
In 1819, the British and American government agreed that the boundary separating their territories would be set at a 49 latitude. (Also known as the 49th parallel)
