Q

Hashicorp

A

I want to share a relevant success story with you. In 2019, HashiCorp approached us during their hypergrowth phase, having expanded from 150 to over 1000 employees in just two years. Their Head of IT faced the challenge of scaling the team without clear visibility into the 200+ applications being used. Juggling between Google Sheets, Slack messages, and IT tickets, managing 225 applications led to 225 points of contact and contracts. This resulted in spending 50% of each week on vendor-related tasks. The fragmented view of SaaS made budgeting and managing renewal cycles difficult, and there was uncertainty about the team’s actual needs or potential redundant apps.

Today, companies are managing spend by…

A

In talking with IT & Procurement teams, we learned that the mix of tools they rely to manage their spend

Companies like Hashicorp, and ActiveCampaign employ the basics like toggling betwewn spreadsheet, slack, and email that are time consuming, have outdated information, and diffcult to collaborate on. At the moment, you’re exploring Zylo which offers some usage data, some visibility into stack, and idenitifies Shadow IT. However, data is only useful if it’s actionable. To do that you’d have to export to another sytem. We’re now talking basic worfkflows and companies you see here like Jira and Monday.com enable action, automate processes, and created efficienceis in the purchase process. Downside is the data to action off has to be pulled in from someplace else, unable to scale collaborative decisining, and it’s expensive tooling that lacks data insights.
