  3. Lies in a depression in lesser pelvis lateral wall (ovarian fossa)

  1. Arises from abdominal aorta at L2 vertebra level below renal artery origin
  2. Descends downward and lateral
  3. At pelvic inlet, it enters suspensory ligament then mesovarium to reach ovary

  2. It runs medial towards uterus to anastomose freely with uterine artery

1. IVC: on right side
2. Left renal vein: on left side
